COMMUNITY HALL_PERAK (COMPLETED)

Last year, I designed a small community hall which been told that going to be built somewhere in Perak for an agency. With reference to some brief, I did some revision based on the client's comments and finally the last option which is Option 4 been developed until it is built.

I would say, 80 percent of the building was built according to my design. The initial requirements were to design a hall that could accommodates 50 pax at one time, the facade of the hall must look modern. I had written the design intentions in my earlier post.

These photo shoots were taken by somebody else which didn't show much of the whole facade. I will upload  better image when i get there for my own photo shoot.

MIXED DEVELOPMENT_KIARA

This another big project that I had been involved at early design stage. The project is going to be developed and constructed by two Malaysia well known property developers at prime area nearby Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. It is comprises of a hotel tower, a serviced apartment and an office tower which sit on a 3 storey shopping mall at podium level

Concept design of the whole scheme was by American Architect in collaboration with local architect. Both of the images above were initial concept sketches by them which been given to me for further development. The local architect has worked out with planning drawings in order to obtain development order (DO) which later also used for my reference.

It took me almost 2 week to complete all final rendering images as shown below as the clients are rushing for their DO submission. Several processes are taken by comments and revision before I managed to achieve the required final images and facade design.

COMMUNITY HALL_PERAK

Frequently we see mini community hall in rural areas, designed with typical layout, bare facade and double pitch roof which totally gave an out dated looks.

We already in millenium era, which our country is going forward towards a developed country. The way our people looking at quality of building design also have to change paralel to the change of living quality and level of intellectuality. We should appreciate a better look of our environment.

This is an example where I did a community hall design in rural area. Basically, the hall is designed for a 50 pax seated and with toilets facility, just like normal hall. What makes the hall design different than others are:

1. Planning
     - Main entry and drop-off point are from the side of the hall intead of from the normal frontage
     - External garden designed as is within the building space
     - Toilets are placed different way

2. Facade
     - Modern design with clear defined lines
     - No overhang pitch roof around building. Replaced with rc. awnings.
     - Featured with ventilation block to allow free breezing through fully open sliding door inside.

MY ARTWORK NO.1 (SCHOOL TIME)

This is my major artwork done during my school time. I was recognized by most of my school friends and some of teachers as a boy with a pretty good skill in arts....thanks God for the Gift.

This artwork was done on a plain wall in school hostel. I was requested by a teacher to beautify the study room which I had decided to paint the wall with a panoramic view of estuary. I took a paper cut of photo shot for my reference and inspiration. It was quite a tough job as to render the image to a large scale painting. 

Materials used were water base emulsion paint. It took almost two weeks to finish the work with some helps from my colleague, especially on base coat painting. It was a nice moment and I really enjoy doing this.

Actually I did another artwork on outside wall. Unfortunately it was gone, maybe due to weather factors and they have repainted the external wall.

After so many years, the artwork still there as seen in the photo. On the right bottom side of the artwork, my signature still there.....I feel so proud because they still keep it there as original..TQ.
